Carb Spacer?

I am thinking of getting a carb spacer cause I think it will help my engine in the higher RPM range. What kind should I get just a spacer or is it worth it to get one that spins the air coming into the intake?? I have a couple little plans to get my 305 breath a little better. I am going to get the 2-1/4 or smaller inch exhust pipe taking off and the flowmaster 40s that I have put on with 2-1/2 inch duel pipes that drop at the rear axle and get a open air filter with the K&N X-tream top.

what do you think of this? It will be a pretty cheap way to get a little more power out of my 305????

Ok I almost got one yesterday at the super shevy show but it was a square bore it was made out of that stuff and it was only like 15$ there were a couple different sizes. But that show was awesome I will post some pics when my friend e-mails them to me.

I have another question is the air lid on a I-Roc and a V6 camaro the same? the one that has the two air filters cause I am thinking a open air filter on my car will not work cause the stock on is recessed into its self for hood clearance with a spacer and open air filter I dont think that will work so I am going to get the air lid and do the ram air thing on thirdgen.org along with the carb spacer.

yeah ok I can get that off a 6 banger at the yard to make my ram air intake. there is a article on how to do it was on a TBI but that will work on a carb just a little different size cap maybe it but I cant seem to find it now.

actually that is worse than the regular air cleaner, the size of hose is to small and there is no ram air there
