I run Syntec in the Beretta and GTX in the Camaro. Maybe I'll switch to Syntec in the Z28...

Its go to be better than quakerstate and penzoil.. those dam Pennsylvania oils have ash in them i dont care what you say, every motor ive tore down thats had it ran in it is more nasty than the tar pits.
except they haven't used oils from pensylvania in about 15 years. The problem with them is they are parifin based (aka wax) and if the car owner is not doing regular maintenance you can guess what you get. I have actually seen penzoil in a ranger with 6000 miles be solid (shows full on dipstick pull the plug and nothing comes out, sitck a pen in and it looks like ear wax)

Mobil 1 is the only motor oil for me.

Royal Purple is second.

and probably most due to cost right (I just can't justify royal purple's price for a normal oil change)

yeah they made that, they have done those for years, and have actually been fined in the past for false advertising (if you notice they never use the same type or grade of oil in both cars now they have to say that)

BTW, it's back on the Gm list.

I went from M1 to RP to Castrol Syntec European Formula (made in Germany - not US brand) 0W-30 in my 2000 TA.

Won't be switching away anytime soon regardless of what GM says. I like the increased oil pressure after hot and the valvetrain quieted down noticeably over the other brands I used.

With my 230/230/ .612/.604 XFI lobe cam, and the springs good to .650 lift - the 'sewing machine' noise was out of control using the other oils.

Besides that, if it's good enough for MB and BMW, it's sure good enough for my LS1...
