I was lucky enough to get one of the few chrome SLP intakes. It looks awesome. If I didn't find this one, I was going to get one of the Arizona Speed and Marine cold ait kits. I think it will fit your Grandpa's purpose very well.

For just a plain chrome- I would just check the 'bay. Probably get one there the cheapest..

just remeber that chrome absorbs and holds heat more than plain does (so it wouldn't technically a cold air intake)

Maybe so, but more than half of it is away from the motor and shouldn't be affected by heat soak- I think its mostly for look anyway- the 1 or 2hp that you might lose are trumped by the good look when the hood is opened.

I like chrome, but under the hood I am torn. If its a DD I am not a fan of it. Either you need enough chrome to make it look good, or just go with a polished or brushed look. Having just a chrome intake system almost looks out of place to me- no offense meant to anyone. Chrome pieces under the hood can look good but it can also look tacky as well.

yeah I agree. I think that goes for ALL things chrome though. Thats basically why I dont like chrome rims at all. They dont match anything on a car unless you have more to back it up.

Like i said the car sits in the garage most of the time
so its by no means a daily
he has a newer Blazer forthe dogs n stuff
althoe i did get a beat run the other day
(thing needs gears haha)

he likes chrome/polished... its what he wants
im sure he dont care if theres a ****** 1 hp reduction cuz its chrome, not like its ever gonna be used to its full potential anyways.
i think he wants the look
