clacking sound in front wheel well

Hey ya'll, im new hear and i just got my camaro and i have some questions. All day long there is this clunking sound coming from my drivers side wheel weel. I can figure it out, the guys at my school ( i go to UTI) had it up on the lift ad said that it wasnt the breaks, my tie rod on that side is fine, and they lubed the wheel bearing and that didnt help. any ideas? my gf dad thinks its the break boots hitting??? but i wouldnt even know where to begin fixin that and i dont wanna take the car to a shop just yet. any help would be awesome.

easy question first do you have hub caps? jack teh front up and spin it see if there is still some sound, usually noises like that are brake pads though

no hub caps, actual rims. so if i spin the wheel and still hear the sound you think its the pads are just loose? im actually gonna go try that as soon as my buddy gets off work and i cn get to his jack.

had to take the car up to the shop today . broke a spark plug off, but it broke in thegood way so no worries. really nice guy at the shop finished my tune up for free. anywho, while it wsa up on the lift he looked at it and said its a warped rotor. thats gonna hafta wait. also found out i had the original spark plugs in there, and that i was only running on 6 cylinders. wow! i thought she was fast before. i've never driven a v8, so i honestly had no clue, just new i had a clanking noise here and there. now the one from the engine isnt doing it anymore, lol.

a clacking sound wouldn't be from a warped rotor- you would just feel it in your brakes, unless it was horribly warped.

but if it's been a while it would have wiped out the inner pad, and now it's loose in there

But you would also probably hear a loud squeeling sound from the metal on metal if the inner or outer pads were gone- seen them both ways- if your caliper is retracting enough to have the parts rattle around I think the caliper shot as well.

Either way sounds like a nice costly repair to fix- my advice- don't just buy the cheap rotors and think you can get the better pads- your pads will be too hard for the rotors and you will warp those rotors quicker than anything. If you get base rotors, get base pads. Highline rotors, highline pads. They go hand in hand.

Its either your pads or a bearing is shot...I am taking my camaro in next week to get my rear wheels check out to make sure the bearings arent shot...my right rear makes a noise thats sounds kinda clunky.

I bet you it's the bearings, how many miles are on the car???
The fact that it's always making that noise while moving sounds like the bearings...
If you have high mileage on your vehicle, and the previous owner didn't even change the plugs I BET he/she didn't even THINK about replacing the bearings.

haha, my bearings are toast, tie rods toast. but non of that was making the noise. it was thes plastic ball attatched to a hose just hanging in the fender bouncing around. i zip tied it so it doesnt bang, but still no clue what it was.
