clogged cat with only 70k?
clogged cat with only 70k?
hey guys i started a thread a few weeks ago about my wifes 2000 camaro. thanks for the replies first of all
well today i took the egr valve off to take a look at it and then i disconnected the neg cable on the battery to clear the codes. well when i hooked everything back up it would not start so i wound up spending $130 to find out the previous owner had a 2nd alarm installed(why the hell they did that i dont know) well it is running now so i had them take a look at the other problems and they told me that my cat could be clogged. is this a common problem? and where would be the best place online to get a cheap oem replacement?
thanks in advance,
lancelanz

Hope your RL issues have gotten better and everything is working out for you.
And, on what Arch said, its true. If you've never seen the inside of a cat it looks like a honeycomb, and is made out of very fragile hard clay substance, hence why you can have a cat rattle from breaking a peice off in the cat.
thanks for the replies guys my wife went to go to work this morning and could go faster than 5mph so she took it to the local muffler shop and it was the cat(i asked for the old one to be sure). once again thanks guys
