go to the local ricer hangout, that's kinda the sound you'll get, and you won't gain very much power it will be fine to do won't hurt anything

open exhaust sounds liek **** on any thing but a v8, and even on v8s it can sound bad unless its built, or a good motor i.e. LT1/LS1

I've never been too fond of those on a 6, but if that's what you like, go for it. Its your car, so do what makes you happy(that's something I live by )

Wow, i dont think its as bad as you guys are saying. Here, just download this and see what im talking about.

**Right click save target as**

http://luckachuck.tripod.com/Cutout_Comparo.zip

(exhaust in that video... its a little old... includes stock manifolds and y-pipe, 3 inch catco cat, 3 inch u bend s pipe, 2.75 inch i pipe, 3 inch cutout, flowmaster muffler with 2.5 inch tailpipes)

I've sent installed pacesetter headers, and it sounds even better (deeper and louder)

Ive never felt any loss of power due to the backpressure, and ive seen proof in instances that its helped some people's 1/4 times. The best placement for the cutout in my opinion would be just before the s bend on the ipipe.
