disengage steering wheel lock

disengage steering wheel lock
the 91 shut off on the way into the drivway. now the key will NOT turn in the ignition and the steering wheel is locked up, wont turn, so i cant push the car into the garage because i cant turn it. windows are down and since i cant turn the key i cant put the windows up. i need help asap, the guys at the chevy dealership didnt know their a$$ from a hole in the ground so they are no help.

lol, no matter how hard i pushed and pulled and turned it wouldnt move, hen my neighbor came by and pulled down and gave the steering column a good whack and there it went. now im just trying to figure out why it shut down in the first place. started right up after we got the key to turn
