Distributor install??

I just finished putting a Edelbrock Performer intake on the camaro but I have a oil leak. It does not leak when Idleing only when I am driving down the road and it is coming from the back of the motor. So my question is, should there be a ring of RTV around the Dis. where it meets the intake? I am pretty sure that it is coming from the dis.

It shouldn't be climbing up the distributer..There should be a ring that should seal it to the intake.

Did you use the chessy little gaskets that go in the valley or use a bead of RTV? If you used the gaskets thats probably your leak, those gaskets don't work very well. If you are unsure, get some dye kit and you should be able to tell.

I found it, its coming from the dis. I can see oil around the base of the dis. I didnt relalize but it came with a gasket for the Dis. I just didnt know where it went.
