EGR block off a problem with OBD1?

I know with OBDII if you block off the EGR the engine will run like ripped ***. Does this also hold true with OBD1 cars? I know the comp will not throw an ses light but how will the engine handle?

LT1s always act differently. with my car im getting it tuned by a place around here. the guy i talked to said hes never tuned an LT1 that didnt pass emmissions. ive never heard of an OBDII car running bad without EGR. to my knowledge you can delete it on a OBDI car also onlything is like you mentioned block it off cause its all vaccum.

it will set an SES light chris. when the PCM tells the EGR to open it expects the rpm to slightly drop so it increases the air/fuel intake. when the EGR doesnt open the engine RPM will increase whereas it would normally stay the same. when this happens the PCM knows the EGR didnt open like it should.

All it did on my car is trigger the SES light. Keep in mind that it only uses the EGR to try and increase gas mileage so its not going to try and open it in full throttle applications. When you are cruising at a steady rate is when its goin to try and work the EGR..
