Electrical Problems
Just recently had to use the rear defrost since a few fays ago I had ice all over all the windows. I noticed that it didn't stay on for long so I thought there was a blown fuse. When I checked it, it was boiling hot to the touch. The following day when I started the car up everything was fine for a minute until the radio died, the windows wouldn't roll down, defrost was dead as well. It all came back after a few minutes when I tried hitting the defrost button a few times. I pulled the fuse panel out and checked the wires on the back and they all looked fine. I noticed that there is one main power line that runs to that side of the fuse panel to run all those parts that had died. Does anyone know where that wire runs to? I'm thinking that this all is related back to when the car was broken into and the rear window was smashed in. I'm kind of thinking there might be a short in the line at the back window if one of the lines got cut from the break-in.
Also my clutch for the a/c compressor is not engaging when I use my front window defrost so I guess I'll be replacing that soon too. It takes longer to heat up the car without the clutch working. :banghead:

the rear defog circuit should be different than the radio one, you definatly have a short though. That red wire comes from teh battery in the main harness (it spilts off at a terminal under the hood usually) it is also very common for rear defogers to go bad. As for teh A/C replace the whole compressor it's almost the same price as a clutch, and to do the clutch teh compressor needs to come out anyway (they are pressed on and need a press to remove them a puller just mangles them)
