EST..

Okay, I do not know what my timing is set at, i set it by ear.. and with what its set at I get 25 MPG At the 1/8 drag strip doing 9.3's all night (6-8runs) and even better with Highway.. best so far was 28.. Not bad for a 350 TBI. The car is pretty quik and fast.. anyway, I just want to know what the timing is set at as is. and try other settings to see if its capable of being quiker.. and maybe i'll tell you what i did to my 350tbi to get such mileage

This wire here.

If i disconect it or keep it connected and check the timing, i cannot get the mark on the balancer near the tab(TChain cover). This wire does nothing for me.. I was told its the EST.. and to disconnect it to be able to get a accurate timing setting..

it allows you to set a specific timing point (a professional type not teh dollar store pos) if doing any performance tuning it's the only type to use it would be like setting air pressure with a baseball bat, it will get you something, but who knows what.

that's a cheap one, a good one runs about $120 (and tends to be a bit more accurate)

depends on weight you run already, running 5w30 compared to 10w30 hasn't been shown to improve anything, but running 20w50 will decrease it

yes 10w40 is a bit heavy for todays engines even, all cars coming from GM have 10w30. If you get your oil changed at the dealer it gets 10w30 also (guess what grade I use)
