Question Exhaust ?

Aight so heres the deal i heard that there are long pipe headers that are streat leagale for the lt1 camaros. What i want is a full exaust from long headers (if posible) to a high flow cat to a cut out (electronic or manual as long as it can be done from inside the car) and keep 3" pipes with a mufler that has good sound that splits the exaust out both sides like stock exhaust. On top of that i want it to be emisions ready. I know its a lot but i wounder if they make a kit like that or if anyone could give me a list of the products i would need to pull it off and keep it emisons ready. i know dynomax makes some of it but i dont know what all they got and there web site confuses me lol Thanks for all yalls help.

Maybe check out ebay because they have cheaper prices on cutouts i think, but I never really heard any response from people here who got them from there. As for the other places, you will get answers from people here as soon as they see the post

do long tubes, a y pipe, factory cat, then a loud mouth or any other catback system. most aftermarket systems will do what you want, but youll need to buy the headers, y pipe and cat back all seperatly, and maybe you can get an exhaust shop to make anything that might need to be custom made, like a y pipe to go from long tubes to the stock cat size.

still curious ok so get a set of long headers that are emisons leagal and a cat back system. What about the cat i know they got high flow emisions cats are they worth it if your redoing everything anyway? Will i need a custom built y pipe to go to a new cat or will it all bolt up? Last say i get headers all the way to tips done and installed myself will a exaust shop install in a cutout if i bring one it to them? Or will i have to have them fab a pipe for me and do it myself? Thanks for everyones help.

I doubt if a shop will do a cutout since they are illegal, but you may find a shop that will do it

so then a regular y pipe would work cause it would go to the cut out then the cut out to the cat and the only pipe i would need fabed is from the cat to the muffler right. And as long as they dont do a visual cheak on the emisons as long as the components are leagal it should pass right

as long as no visual (if they have emmissions they do a visual)remember also cutouts don't help power they just sound redneck (no exhaust on a street car is redneck)

they never did a visual on my car that i noticed when i have gotten emisions done but that doesnt say they didnt do it i just never saw them. Yea i know its the sound thing just for the fun of it but it sounds like it might end up being more of a pain then its worth to put one on.

you guys are sorta confused...youre talking of this as its a simple swap of the factory stuff...when you do long tubes you get into the custom exhaust area...

get the pacesetter long tubes, they have emissions hook ups. then get their y-pipe, its made for their headers. this y-pipe goes behind the trans, sorta like the LS1s, so then you'd need an LS1 catback and you'd have to have the cat installed in the i-pipe of that catback.

whatchu talkin bout? you talkin about my sig "!EGR"? well the last guy who owned it musta bootlegged the smog cuz when i was tearin it apart last week i noticed he had a big *** bolt shoved into the EGR pipe in the back of the manifold. these headers dont have the provision.

i guess i'll have to get me some pacesetter LTs before my next smog in 07

well if you dont have an EGR valve or any of the provisions on the headers you wont pass. well you probably would without a visual inspection but in Cali they are crazy about smog.
