I've really been thinking about this a lot and I've decided to do it.

I'm going to make a side exhaust for my Z28. I'm going to use the stock Z28 style tips that are polished and have them come out right in front of the rear tires. I'm thinking about getting a Xenon kit and cutting the area in the side skirts for it to come out of.

I like the look of the dual exit exhaust out the rear but I've always LOVED the looks of a side exhaust. As soon as I get my header's installed I'm going to get started. I'm going to have the pipes come out from the headers and then right out the tips. No mufflers, no cat's, no nothing! I might end up putting cutout's where they'll go either straight pipes out the sides or through a really restrictive muffler out the middle into dumps so it won't be loud around cops or on long drives.

No...I think you WILL end up putting cutouts into a muffler...esp if you start makin more horsepower...Even with my no muffler exhaust system I think its a little too loud on trips- and thats with it comin out the back-I can only imagine if it came out the sides how loud it would be...

Excatly, who know's I might also put some bullet muffler's after the header's just to help the exhaust note get a little deeper as well.

actually i was thinking about alternatives to my exhaust right now, because i have a turndown right by the tire idk what im gona do for emmisions, because they prolly wont be able to do the sniffer test. i might re work it after i get headers and whatnot, and yes i was thinking about using a stock Z-28 tip also.lol. but they are only like 2.25 correct? also does anyone know where the O2 sensor is on my car?lol

Problem with that is thay you'd have four exhaust tips, two on the sides and two in the rear.
