exhaust, muffler, and headers??

well if you want to see some real world gains and notice a nice difference in the performance of the car you should prolly go with some long tube headers, an off road y pipe and a nice catback. dont by any means, ever get a flowmaster for a camaro/firebird.
ok for longtubes, you have a few options.
the best budget setup for headers would be either Hooker Supercomp Longtubes or Pacesetter longtubes. it would be best to get them coated to prevent peeling and lower underhood temps.
i got mine used for 300, you can find a nice set for anywhere between 2-4 used. or just buy new from mostly anywhere like jegs/summit/thunder racing for 4-6 hundred
then y pipe. my hooker y pipe that bolts right up to the headers was about 150. expect to pay anywhere between 100-250 for a nice y pipe, mine was used, but it only works with hookers, so if you go with them, go with thier y pipe too.
for a catback, it depends what kinda sound your looking for. most perform the same, except flowmaster likei already stated.
some popular brands are...
Hooker - fairly quiet until you get on it, then it has a nice loud sound without much rasp
SLP Loudmouth - pretty popular choice, but it will give you that low RPM rasp around 2-3 grand, then it goes away and sounds wicked up high. prolly one of the best flowing and cheapest setups. its also stainless steel
Magnaflow - stainless steel, decently loud, but more mellow than some, has a good WOT sound
Corsa - nice, very loud, expensive
Borla - same as corsa, both are comparable in performance and sound to the Loudmouth but much more expensive. you also get plates to adjust the flow so it can be quieter and run through the muffler or go wide open and straight out.
these are the most popular catbacks. check out ls1sounds.com for some vids of the different setups.
all in all, it depends how crazy you wana go with the exhaust and what you wanna replace when you do them all.
my job for just headers and a y pipe cost about 1200 bucks because aside from headers and y pipe, i did motor mounts, plugs, wires, o2 sims, o2 extensions, headers bolts, and a basic tune. so it can add up VERY quick.
if you do it correctly and buy everything new, expect so pay anywhere between 800 and 1500. give or take a bit. if you want, you can also go with custom Kooks headers and custom offroad y pipe or true duals, but that will be upwards of 2 grand.

thanx man. i found some hooker long pipe headers and a off road y pipe for 800. and also i wanna know like how would i get a good sound out the car? wat else would i have to put and wat do i need to take off? cuz i heard the car sounds good without a \muffler but i also heard it messes up the car. cuz i want a nice loud sound out of it. i live in california so i kno i wouldnt be able tpo pass emissions but im about to move to georgia so i think i should be able to pass emissions over there.

thats not a great deat unless they are coated and BRAND NEW.
if you dont wanna spend time looking through for sale threads for a decent set of headers, just go with some brand new pacesetts and a matched y-pipe. it should run ya under 600 new. try to get coated tho.
