Experiances with Optima batterys...
Anyone have one or have had experiances with them?
Just wondering how it's held up for you. I've had my yellow top for about 10 months now. I bearly drive the car (yall know why) and i think it's dead. These things are supose to last longer and be more reliable that conventinal liquid cell batteries. I also know you can hook up a standard battery charger to these things too. So 10 months and mine's dead - and i can't charge it. WTF? Anyone else where I'm at or heard the same things?

why cant you charge the battery grant? I am probably getting an optima when I update my sound system for the 5th time and get a new alternator at the same time.

99% of the battery charges made today can charge them no problem (the ones that won't won't do maintenance free either so chunk it since there are very few of the old style batteries around) mine was in the bravada for a year without starting, and it died (it has a draw somewhere) it's now in the gtp and has never let me down. I use a cheap battery charger on it with no problems

charge the battery (of course) disconnect the negative post and connect a test light, the pld style light bulb type between teh battery and cable, it will probably light up (make sure everything is off) pull fuses one by one until it goes off (I would pull teh radio and ecm ones anyway as those have a draw anyway)

my yellow top holds up to the abuse of my system and has not died yet and if i turn my **** up even with my 5 farad it will drain the battery like no other. Had it and abused it for over 9 months. I still need to buy a new freeking alternator just havnt got around to it yet lol
