Floor Board is soaked...Help?!?!

When taking off my seats to put the leather on, I encountered something very strange, under the carpet was soaking wet all the way from the front seat to the back, now the carpet is dry, but inderneath it with the insulation is wet, the car doesnt reak of any mildew or moldy smell, the floor under the carpet looks clean with no signs of rust, I am wondering if anyone has simular problems or would know if I have a drain plug missing or gone bad ect...

that pad absorbs water like a sponge, just you getting in with wet feet can make it real wet

Happens with my Z also. But it's cuz there's a amp wire that I run through the door jam. So it doesn't get that wet. It usually happens when it REALLY pours. Right now with the snow and such, it doesn't really happen. It's a pain finding the source of the water....

not that hard really, you just use a garden hose, and have someone in the car watching for it (makes it alot easier if the interior is gutted)

My main problem with water getting in was when it poured is the window seal on the drivers side was water tight, so a lil would get through and soak my drivers door

but the water isnt just under my drivers seat, its soaked under my rear seats as well on both sides, so Im thinking I have a moisture leak somewhere under the car, im going to put it on ramps and inspect the underside of the car monday.

check the cowl, and firewall, also the hatch seals. If from underneath the water tends to be very isolated (my '75 had no drivers floor, and the rears were dry as can be)
