if its a v6 i wouldnt try to make it sound better, only thing iwould do is make it flow better but that will still have a different noise. IMO you cant make a v6 sound good, but talk to some other people who have v6 cars and see what they like and stuff.im assuming your looking at a flowtech muffler only correct? do u have a link or anything?

really it's not bad, but teh stock muffler on the v 6 isn't that restrictive (I had a thing showing some dyno numbers) it was only 2 hp less than the best numbers flowmaster, and borla had the best numbers (only a couple companies were shown)again that was on a v6 though

dont listen to people that talk negatively about V6s on this board. everyone says you cant make a V6 sound good and that it always has rasp. thats not true. i have a stock 3.4 (not for long baby) and its got a flowmaster 80 series muffler with resonated tips. until 4000 rpm, it sounds really good and idle is so nice! definitely worth it. but the real way to make it sound good, cam and ported heads, i'll have a sound clip of that in a week.

the 80 series muffller is really cheap if thats the only thing you want right now. and you can make the car sound really good with a full system, like headers, your cat back system, messing with the cats(illegal to not have one on just to let you know).

im not dissing v6's or any thing, i have nothign against them, only thing i said is that a v6 no matter what doesnt sound good to me. thats just my opinion and from what i read and have heard a lot of other peoples opinions too. only v6 ive ever heard that sounds good is a GN. either way good luck with it.

for 20 bucks for a replacement go with it, I too would say get a resonator (a glasspack muffler is what most guys use) to help with any rasp and it won't hurt flow
