FMU Question

So I live at 7,000 foot elevation. That gives me about a 4.5 to 5psi drop in ambient air pressure from sealevel. (Yeah car feels like my old Saturn up here).

Anyhow, if I run 6PSI of boost, thats only about 1psi over sealevel. So with the 6:1 FMU, will I be running extremely rich? Should I not be using the FMU unless I drive down the mountain to sealevel?

1PSI over sealevel should be well within the range of my stock computer and injectors right?

I'm not a scientist or a physics major, but I think your math is off. You are still going to be boosting 6 psi of the air you have. You can't directly compare ambient and boosted air pressures the way you did. You will still need to run either an FMU, (not a fan of BTW) or get bigger injectors and have the computer tuned for them.

My vote is definitely get the injectors and get it tuned. It not only will run a lot smoother, but you will make more horsepower as well. When I was running the FMU and switched to bigger injectors my car made easily 50 more hp because it was getting the optimum A/F. It can cost you some money, but $500-$700 is a lot cheaper than a new motor because it was running too lean or only getting 5 mpg because its running so rich.
