fuel types?

i was just wondering what kinda fuel everyone uses? ive been running premium but i got cheap tonight and put a little regular in.

camaro94 01-18-2005 09:50 PM

89.. the cheapest I can get. That's all I can afford.

NCamaro94 01-18-2005 09:52 PM

our v6's dont require anything special

1BADZ 01-18-2005 09:59 PM

ha arron i acidently put 10 in regualr tonight... Ha, but who gives a car.... just a break on my pocket.. but tommorow when i go get the wheels i give her a little supreme....

NoRiceInside 01-18-2005 10:44 PM

ok aarontracy and 1badz...both you guys screwed up.

aaron: using premium on a regular basis does absolutely nothing. it will not improve your performance, it will very very slightly increase your mpg and very very slightly reduce the chance of detonation, but since they are such discrete increases/reductions its not at all worth it.

1badz: on the lt1 using regular has the opposite affect as aarons booboo. it will hurt your performance, reduce your mpg, and increase the risk of detonation...have fun :nana:

1BADZ 01-18-2005 11:05 PM

im good, i only put 10 bucks in, its not spark knocking or any thing... im putting supremem in tommorow... it will mix it out...

NoRiceInside 01-18-2005 11:18 PM

yeah that should be fine. but no racing when youre running 87.

1BADZ 01-18-2005 11:22 PM

heck no lol, 110 when im racing

NoRiceInside 01-18-2005 11:23 PM

well i mean dont get the rpms too high cuz that is when the lower octane fuel would fail on ya and boom.

1BADZ 01-18-2005 11:31 PM

yah.. i get what your saying...

archemedes 01-19-2005 12:45 AM

you only need enough octane to stop detonation (110 is overkill for a mostly stock motor) but many premium fuels have better detergents for the injectors so it doesn't hurt to run a tank every once in a while
