gm passlock relearn
rfom another forum written by a member from there
95-99 J-bodys
1) try to start car (it won't)
2) leave key in ignition in the on position for 15 minutes. (the security light will go off on the dashboard)
3) turn the key to the off position, and pull it out
4) after about 10 seconds start the car
00-05 J-bodys
1. Turn ON the igniton, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, it will be flashing. After approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords, on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
IMPORTANT: The vehicle learns the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You MUST turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.

I never knew those tricks. I wonder if they carry over to other vehicle.
Last time something like this happened.. I just made a lil resistor to the same value as the key and spliced it into the 2 wires in the orange sheeth of my car

these cars dont have a resistor in the keys, the passlock is housed in the instrument cluster, atleast inthe pre 99 cars it is. theres a box that can be baught to get around it and my buddy tried to get it to work and had no luck, thing requires like 4 relays and a bunch of stupid , he just gave up on it after a while
