so i just went and started it up..it started up fine i listened to the engine and there sounds like a whining coming from the pump. Im not sure if the temp guage was working because it wasnt moving. When i revved it the rpms lagged back down to idle<< which is really weird and when i turned the car off it sounded like a little knock

But yeah, youre definitly not going to be able to hear the pump dying or anything.. so thats pointless. Did you check your fluid level? not only the overflow, but the radiator also? Then do the thermostat. If that doesnt fix it, check your hoses, or replace them, and do the water pump. You can probably do all that for under $100 and an hour.

Buy one locally. Theyre everywhere.
And yes, low fluid would do that. After I changed my pump I didnt get the fluid level high enough, so after 5 mins of driving my temp gauge shot up faster than a dog getting a boner.

Yeah theres no point to buying those kinds of parts online... youre going to get overpriced or brand new gm replacements. Thats like taking your car to the dealer..................which Im sure youre familiar with.
Part stores are in business for a reason.

thank you..
you always start cheap and move up.

if you hear noise from the pump, then the bearings may be bad mine on the gp didn't leak a drop when it seized up at 70 mph and ate the belt, but anytime you drain the coolant pop a new tstat in cheap insurance

ok first off paar..u can defiantly hear a water pump go bad btw. I changed the thermostat and water pump. and while i was at it checked the spare resevoir took it out cleaned all the battery connectors and all around there. The car seems to be doing alot better but while at idle for a couple minutes the car will eventually hit 210 degrees.,..now the fans dont come on unless i turn the ac on when are they supposed to come on at what temp
