Gutting a converter

Hey, i always here u guys talking about gutting your catalytic converters for more flow and everything, but what does it do? Can you still pass emissions with it? If so i totally want to do it! Probly make my catback worth it more.

makes it sound diff. i did it to my rs. liked it. but i just took the whole thing off. guttin it just makes it so it looks like you still have one. and it changes the sound.more flow? yeah. but it doesnt give you some huge hp increase.

I dont think youd pass emissions if there is an 02 sensor after the cat, obviously.
