Hesitation

Hi, today i was driving home and felt after half an hour a little hesitation when i hit the gas. Nothing else happened until i got home and realize my stock tachometer got stuck in aprox. 1500rpm's. I hear something a little weird (not the normal engine sound). Any ideas??????? :banghead: I start the engine and it works aparently fine. Thankx...

i drove today and nothing happened, just the stuck tach neddle again, it works and then it doesn't, i noticed that when it gets stuck, the neddle drops slowly 'til it works again, Nothing wrong with the engine.......

I guess i'll need to wait someone whose car has done something similar, cause sarcasm don't fix cars.... thankx anyway.

could you have a short in the tach wire? is there an alarm on the car (specifically remote start?) get a recording of the noise. I have heard a million different noises from cars, and bet there are more I haven't heard yet

Well if your tach needle is stuck, either a possible short like Arch suggested, or it could be as simple as the gauge face is coming unglued and making the needle stick.

If thats all the problem is its not going to prevent you from driving your car..

Alright, in fact, i was thinking on that. I think that the actual problem might be that the neddle is stuck with the overlay gauge. I didn't glue it (the gauge)because there was no instruction about it and i noticed it was thick enough to avoid bending o losing it's original form. Ill check on that.

I do have an alarm, but doesn't have the feature u mentioned arch. Thankx everyone
