Hooker LT's and Sportline ground clearance

I installed my Hooker LT's over the weekend and I just wanted to give you guys some pictoral evidence of the (lack of) ground clearance afterwards. The first two pics are driver's side and the last is passenger side. There's a whole 1.25 inches of clearance on the driver's side. It hangs lower than the passenger side so I didn't bother measuring that. 9 volt battery for real-world reference. By the way, these are on the 1997 Z-28, just so you know.

damn i would cut that flange and rotate it on both the headers and the pipe connecting to it, bc that will be scrapin alot and possible cause an exhaust leak

That's why I wouldn't buy headers with the flange. You lose that much more clearance.

Although to be fair I think my ground clearance of my ypipe is about the same as your headers.

We just picked up a set of Pacesetter LTs and Y for Steph's car. Although they are an inexpensive header, the have some pretty good features. They have a slip fit collector and pretty thick laser cut flanges. Hopefully they will be leak free. I would cut those flanges off, set ip up as a slip fit, and use stainless band clamps.

ive heard so much about the pacesetters as far as clearance. by far, the best. sure, hookers flow better, but look at what you sacrafice.

and btw, sportlines and any LTs...no-no.

Yeah, I can see that. The car had Sportlines on it when I bought it. Spring spacers FTW?

idk who has ever noticed my ride height on my T/A but it is quite nice, not too low but deffinitely sits nice. it is stock WS6 height which is similar to the Prokit springs, with my Hookers, as long as i dont drive like a retard, im totally fine. my friends LS1 SS that has all SLP exhaust which is like 1100 bucks for the headers, his y pipe hangs way lower than my collectors. pacesetters might be cheap and no big flange, but i like the 3 bolt flange on headers compared to a slipfit. my same friend, blew off his y pipe on the drivers side one day i think just from tons of accelerating(he just got it outa storage) and the stupid slip fit SLP header and y pipe came apart. FYI tho, sportlines and headers just plain dont mix.

actually matt, i think the stock WS6 springs are only about 0.8 or so.

anyway shock, i'd get something besides eibach. im real close to lowering my car, its just down to deciding all the lil details. but ive dont a lot of research. eibachs sag in general, they are usually lower than advertised, and the rear will eventually sag even more.

for the most part, ive made up my mind: sam strano baby! im getting his brand new lowering springs, which ive heard incredible things about. lower about 1.3 inches. then ima do his revalved bilsteins, then his addco adjustable panhard, then of course, his hollow sway bars BIG money, but worth it.
