How much nitrous is to much?

I was considering running a shot of nitrous on my 95 Z-28 but i am not sure what size shot, what company to use, and what exactly i need to buy to make sure everything runs properly. My engine has about 96k on it and i was thinking about a 85 shot? I want it to be noticable amount but i also dont wanna do ne thing stupid and cause to much stress on my engine, notice the word to much, lol.

most of the name brand companies are good. Start with a 50 shot, and work up it may be all you need

alot of people have that or the NX kit. both are pretty good from what i hear. i have 120k on my motor and i plan on running a 100 shot on top of my near 400 rwhp motor only. (i dont have that stuff yet) :) make sure you get all the safety items like fuel pressure shutoff switch, window switch if its an M6, blowdown tube, etc.
The Dynotune kit is pretty much the cheapest kit you will find but it is still a really good kit and its adjustable from 75-150. so start at 75, until you gain confidence or want a little more. alot of people have 150 shots on pretty much stock motors with over 100k miles and they have been running them for 50k+. 100 realy shouldnt be much of a problem on a near 100k mile LT1.

i started with a 100 shot on my 406 and am currently spraying a 250 shot. once i change intake and heads (going from a mod'd TPI and AFR 195s to HSR and AFR 210's) ill b doing a direct port 300 shot. as long as u have the correct amount of tuning and enough fuel, its safe (in a nutshell). granted, u cant put a 500 shot on a stock 4 cly and use this "theory".

I am at 100 shot on stock engine

as with any power adder, if you don't do the supporting stuff your throwing money away.

150 shot on stock bottom end LT1 is about all you can do and still be safe.

I personally plan on running a 100 shot on my LS1. This winter I'm going to buy and install it, just make sure you buy ALL the saftey equipment. This isn't a time to be cheap. I'll proabably start with a 75 shot and then moving up to the 100 after feeling safe with the smaller shot.
