because a 200 shot on a stock motor is not safe. The guys that do that typically have either enough money to buy a whole new motor, or no concept of if it's broke you have to get it fixed. With nitrous all it takes is a little hiccup fromt eh fuel pump and you have a $2000 paperweight

actually, if all is tuned properly, it's not much different than running an intercooled blower with say 12lbs of boost, that would up the hp by about 200. Its all in the tune, retard the timing, bump the fuel, and have enough saftey stuff to protect from the "hiccups".

fuel pressure safety switch, window switch and blowdown tube is pretty much all you need to really be safe and they are all very inexpensive.

the problem is the fuel pump (you run a 200 shot you better do a second fuel system for the nitrous) doesn't come in the package. The fuel pressure safety switch won't save an engine (I've seen a few at the track that the switch shut flow off a half second after the damage was done, yes it was less damage, but the motor was still junk) another issue is most people slap a bottle in and don't bother with a tune or anything else
