How would I... !EGR !AIR !A/C, !PCV
Hey, I am waiting on parts for my project LT1 and figured i would do a little research on these deletes.I want this car to be a daily driver when i need it to be.
I would like to know the advantages of !AIR, !EGR, and possibly A/C delete. (I may want to keep the A/C, this isn't a track queen).
Also, i think i want Dual Breathers on my valve covers(for show), so the PCV valve will also be deleted.
if anyone can make a quik write up that would be great, and if there are downsides please also list them. what will i need, where to get it, and how much i will spend.
I am sending my PCM to MadZ28.com, I hope he can get all my work tuned including the deletes i decide to do. I want to make sure i have all the performance parts and changes done to the car before i send the PCM out. I want to be driving around by the end of this month.
thanks all!!!

EGR and AIR will need to be tuned out of the stock PCM. then off coarse pull out the AIR/ Smog pump and all the lines going to the exhaust manifolds/ headers or block them off then the EGR you can keep the solenoid on the back of the intake(thats what i did, and just plugged it off) then cap off the EGR provision on the manifold/header or if you have race headers you wont have them hooked up anyways. you can throw the breathers on the valve cover(s) and just cap off the line onto the Throttle Body. for a/c just pull everything out, may need to get it tuned out as well, im not too sure, ive never looked into it.

You should only need to do a breather if you are running boost.
The PCV is so small on the LT1 that its hardly noticable anyway.
The EGR and AIR are tuned out with just a couple parameter changes, no big deal at all. I would personally get the block-off plates for the intake. Even though you really can't see them, I think its a better way.
As for A/C, removing it will gain you space to work and free up some clutter from the engine bay. It will also help keep your temps down since you are eliminating the a/c radiator from in front of the engine radiator. The only downside is obvious, no A/C. I personally have only wished I had it maybe 3-4 times a summer. The t-tops provide enough wind for me and I don't drive it daily. If it was my DD, maybe I would have left it in.
I don't really think you need a write-up. Just don't put the stuff in is basically all I can tell you. It would be a little different if you were deleting it from a factory car.

A/c if you live in the south you need it I use mine almost year round. Not much gain from EGR delete except looks, Smog pump you gain a couple hp, and one less failure prone device. If you have any emissions testing though it will fail (at least it's supposed to if they do the job correctly) and could get you a fine since they are removed

Very true, So indeed i will not install my AIR. For the record, what is it's purpose?
I've found EGR block off plates, I think they will do fine.
As for the valve breathers, not necessary, just a show touch... Kinda like how they look. Couldn't hurt i assume...
I am unsure what the AIR and EGR systems do, could someone clarify this? I've herd of the deletes, is there real HP gain? The only reason i am deleting them is i am too lazy to re-install them on my motor... I have pacesetters with hook ups, but will look for bolts big enough to thread into the holes. Thanks for your quick responses, this question was posted on 3 forums... this is the only one with an answer.

you can actually drive with !EGR ad !AIR forever and wont cause any problems really, i did for a while before i got it tuned. you will just throw codes. only thing the AIR pump hooks to is the electrical connector, some vacum lines to the intake i think then the main tubing going to the headers/manifolds.

Your AIR pump only takes air from the intake tube itself, not the actual intake. Since its electrical, you aren't going to gain any power from it, just uncluttered engine bay. I pulled the AIR and EGR at the same time, not so much for the extra ponies, but for the cleaner look and that much less stuff to take off when it needs to be worked on.
Not to mention my Procharger mounts where the AIR pump is..which would you rather have?
