I need power
I have 94 3.4 v6 camaro and im looking at adding some power to it nitrous aint gonna happen cuz its at 172,000 miles. would rebuilding the engine and boring it out be the best way to go?

to get good power from the v6 you will spend a ton of money, and sacrifice some reliability. I wouldn't go crazy with boring, as it can create cooling issues, and reliability issues. Change the cam, have the heads done, and some intake work and you'll gain some, will it beat stock v8's probably not, for that add turbo

Pretty much the same thing everyone else said. Especially due to the fact that its a 3.4 and not a 3.8, the 3.4 has hardly any aftermarket modifications, and the power gains are minimal at best. If you want power, buy a v8.

You'll easily have a couple grand in doing a proper rebuild- for that much you are half-way to getting a bigger motor or better car. You can get into an early LT1 that is in good shape for around 5k these days.

That is the best idea as you'll have more hp stock than you'll ever get your 3.4 up to.
I use to own a 3.4 and I installed: CAI, Headers, 3" carsound cat, Loudmouth catback, 1 peice aluminum driveshaft, rear end out of a Trans Am with LSD and 3.73 gears.
The headers and gears did a nice increase in power but it was still no where near a stock LT1.
