i read some where

i read somewhere that there is a guy getting 416rwhp with a custom turbo and a cam setup. Now if this is true i would be more than happy to settle for 416 and then add nitrous. I need a link or any kind of info on this guys setup thankz

Not as much as you might think. Linxs (pat) Member of the board has stock motor with a custom turbo kit on it and he has put down a best of 416 RWHP (rear wheel horse power) with an open Exhaust.Of course this took alot of tuning hours.

i found it. Now i just need a link to see this guyz setup thankz and i was wondering how much power would i be looking to gain with a hypertech chip and a nitrous setup cuz that is mostly liking wut will be installed soon.So let me know if you guyz have any numbers for me. thankz

DONT USE A HYPERTECH PROGRAMMER WITH NITROUS!!! Those things advance the timing and with nitrous you want to retard the timing. If you use a hypertech programmer with spray, you WILL BLOW THE MOTOR.

If you are going to do nitrous or boost, I highly suggest you check out www.camarov6.com or www.fullthrottlev6.com. There is a ton of info on both sites regarding boost and spray. If you want, you can email me or PM with specific questions about nitrous, I am pretty knowledgable about it.

You mean running nitrous?

Well. It depends on what kinda shot you want to use. (Shot means the jet size if you didnt know). Like I personally am running a 125 wet shot, which required some other supporting mods to do it safely. You can run a 75 wet shot on a pretty much stock v6 though.

You can run a 75 shot on a stock motor with no problems. I would definately recommend a wet shot though.

Okay... put it this way. As per difference, a 75 shot will give you nearly 75 horsepower. You have 180ish horsepower stock, so going from 180 - 255 in a split second is quite noticeable.

Let me know when you pop your motor from running too much juice to it. I have seen way too many young kids think that just because it will take 75 all day, it will take 125 occasionally.

Then you will have another 3 grand in rebuilding your V6, then have to save another 5 grand for your turbo set-up and then even more to have someone install it since it doesn't sound like you are too knowledgeable.

Everyone talks about doing turbos, rarely does someone actually go thru with it. Heck, I have even tossed around the idea. But I realize that it will cost a lot of money, money that has other destinations now that times are changing. But more power to you if you want to put at least 8 grand into your car for 400hp..

Hence why I told him to run a 75 shot and nothing more. I only run 125 because my car is modded for it, and I use it occassionaly, I've grown out of the flexing my muscles thing.

Honestly youngmaro, I would just save your time and money and work on the turbo, and be patient until then. Even if nitrous is used completely 100% correctly, it can be a disaster, its a chance you take.

if i were u i would just drop in an 8, because if u pay to have someone do it it will be a more basic set up with a turbo u have to put tons of hours into tuning and than put time into maintaining the system, i would kill for 20000 to just drop in my car im putting a little at a time in an account trying to save for the mods i want, but please dont get stupid and run a huge shot of nitrous and blow ur engine or build a crazy hp engine and not put any money into the rest of the car and be suprised u ripped through ur tranny on the first launch, just make a plan before u really start anything
