I want to loose weight ... :P

I really need to shed some pounds. Haha ... But seriously, I'm not sure if there is a different thread on this but oh well.

I don't want my car to be bare bones or anything but what are some things (if ANY) that I could remove from the car to loose some weight without ruining the engine, body, or interior (once agian, if ANY).

*gets ready for "you can't" responses* :banghead:

u pretty much cant...only thing i can suggest is fiberglass hood, some light wheels (draglites, prostars) that plexy glass sh*t or what ever it is...and thats all i can think of with out touching th engine, paint, or interior. You are asking a lot for not wanting to actually get rid of anything.

No, I would get rid of stuff, I just said I don't want to RUIN the engine or interior. Like, I want to keep it looking good, not torn up or gutted. But if there is nothing to take out without making it look torn up, then I guess thats it. Fiberglass hood and draglites. :P

Are most aftermarket hoods fiberglass? ... I kinda want to get the glasstek 4" cowl, I assume its fiberglass.

the only way to lose significant weight is rmove stuff.Glasstek only makes fiberglass stuff. There are braces that can be removed, but if you get in an accident don't expect insurance to cover anything (if you survive since they are safety braces)

You can gut the interior carpet and sound deadning material and get some lightweight carpet, also you can take out a/c, EGR, rear seat?, spare tire & jack, convert to manual windows ect..

Its just like people have said- you can lose weight but it comes as a sacrifice too. Depends on how much of a difference you want to make. You will need to shed at least 100 lbs to feel any kind of difference at all..

There really isn't a whole lot of bracin that can be removed, or that I would want to remove..There is a big piece behind the front bumper that you can take out but pray you never get into an accident. I took mine off only to remove the honeycomb to make room for the intercooler but left the brace there.

If you aren't to concerned about safety, you could try one of my projects that I will be undertaking in the next couple of weeks. Taking out all the Air Bag equipment. That will definetly save some weight. But alot of people don't like that sacrifice. I have already taken out the rear seats, AIR, EGR, washer fluid resivoir, rear seat belts, and the front bumper honeycomb. But I still want the Air bags removed for a couple reasons.

just don't carry any passengers without a huge insurance policy, you get in an accident and they are hurt you are open for a lawsuit

Yeah, the very few people that actually ride in my car have the same stuff done to thier vehicles. So...they know what they are getting themselves into. That and I can't honestly remember the last time someone rode with me in my car. After I took out the seats, my car was no longer the car that me and my buddies piled into to go have some fun in. That and since I lowered it, it would scrape with too much weight in it.
