Im such a Idiot!!

Yesterday, I was driving and saw a GTO on my rear I had just turned left and was getting on a onramp to hit I-10, The **** GTO was on my *** as if he wanted to play. Im always down, so NE ways, im on like 5 just letting the car float like always going about 50 tops getting on the freeway when like i said the GTO getting on my ***, I decided to play a little catch up, I "tried" to put it into 3rd when instead i put it into 1st :banghead: :banghead: and the **** car jerked like ****, Nothing to bad since I was only going about 45-50, but **** that hurt. I almost shitted my self. :lolsign: No but seriously it sucked. I turned on my car this morning to observe and I heard no wierd noises. Hope i didnt bend a PR. Has that ever happend to you or is it cause Im just a idiot?

I kept missing shifts with the stock shifter, it absolutly sucks. I haven't missed a shift yet with my Hurst shifter with Lou Short Stick.

No I meant the actual shifter. For the knob I have the leather pistol grip SLP one but instead of saying SLP on the top there's an H for hurst.

I thought after a certin speed you cant go into the 1st gear, I dont recall forcing it in.

when i was at the track, my last run, i did that exact same thing. i was ripping through the gears and at about half track maybe a little after i went from 2nd to 1st instead of 3rd and the tires started screeching so i put the clutch in and rolled through the traps in 4th. you can see it here, its hard to tell but if you listen close you can hear the tires screech.

I had a quick reaction as soon as I did I shifted into 4th. I think the GTO almost rear ended me. That will teach him to mess wit an SS. :lolsign: :lolsign:

so what happened after the little escapade? did you just play it cool and be like "that's right, no one messes with an SS" ;)

archemedes 07-07-2005 11:55 PM

yep can't miss an auto shift :lolsign:

NoRiceInside 07-08-2005 07:04 AM

sure you can. mines does all the time.

69z-28 07-08-2005 10:18 AM

with a stock auto shifter you can very easily miss a shift, but not really likely with an aftermarket shfiter or like a rachet type.

archemedes 07-08-2005 10:31 AM

if you manually shift a stock auto your doing it wrong, and 90% of the time slowing the car down, and if it misses a shift otherwise it's needing a rebuild
