Exclamation

Ok here is the deal with this shiftkit. It is comming out of a 1500 truck with same transmission as mine. Question is the shiftkit has 7 ***** about the same size maybe alittle bigger than a BB, My mechanic was told by someone that he thinks he needs to extract one of the *****. Now im not sure what this "ball" thing in the shiftkit is, DO I even need to extract one of the ***** for any reason?
Again not sure if this kit is a B&M or transgo, is there a way to tell once I look at it in the valvebody?

the ***** are checkballs. if its the same transmission he shouldnt need anymore...unless of course your old one was missing one...

go to someone who knows what he's doing, adding and removing those ***** can make the trans do nothing (you can move them and get better performance, but if one is wrong it's a nice smoke show)Like Caleb said same trans

Well Yesterday (Sunday) Me and my mechanic installed the shiftkit that came out of a truck that has the same transmission as mine. We took it for a spin and nothing changed. No difference, it was supposed to shift hard and sh*t but nothing, so i got about 15 miles going towards my house and the shifts seemd further apart. Shifts seems out. So I didnt feel comfortable with that and turned around and we put the orginal stuff back on my car. Im thinking maybe that kit was the "heavy duty" kit, cause you know how the shiftkit comes in heavy duty and street/strip modes? I dunno...Im just gonna buy the right kind of kit and install that this weekend. :banghead:

Where is a site where I can get a Transgo Shiftkit? The B&M kits are easy to find but cant seem to find the transgo..

I was told not to install one on my 99. He said it would eat the bands in it, and within a few days, no 1-2 shift. Instead I just had the PCM reprogrammed and increased the fluid pressure on the shifts 1-2 and 2-3. Feels like it has a shift kit, and no worries.
However, this is only an opinion, and I believed him. Although he could have installed it and took my money. He didn't, so I went the PCM route. Jessica

(I believe Summit Racing carries the trans go kit)

fix it, a bra is the worst thing you can do, it ruins the paint (I have had cars with bras that needed new hoods from them)

lol ruining the paint is the last thing to worry about on the front of my car, the motive is to cover up the flaws with that bra. I will get around to fixing the shiftkit but right now what with one of my roommates in a rehabilitation center for alcholism he is 45 and my other roommate is 63 and is dying of cancer and refuses treatment. I just met this chick awhile back and am going out with her in about two hours from now and my motive is to get to move in with this b*tch.... She is hot and has a tounge ring and works at this lounge me and my buds go to most weekends called the pizza joint, thats the name of it...anyways im out. Much things to think about. Oh and not to mention im seriously on the verge of failing this algebra class at college that i MUST pass. I also have to take tommorow off from work which I really dont want to do so I can go to court to get this window tint ticket dropped, I had the 5% film removed and put 35% and I have proof of this so Im hopeing they will drop this $192 ticket, mother f*cking cop gave me a straight out ticket, no warning. whatever. He was just another typical newbie cop trying to earn his brownie points buy seeming like an as$hole. Just not much time to study. Urghh In the words of joe dirt.."Lifes a garden, dig it"

pretty sure that was a bad opinion and a bad idea with the route you went.. if im correct and i think i am.. the B&M Electronic Shift Improver does the exact thing that you are saying you had your computer reprogrammed to do.. just increases the line pressure.. which is what arch was talking about tearing apart a transmission.. you might want to look into that
