LS1 stall in a l36

Would a 2800 stall converter out of an LS1 work in a V6 drivetrain? I think they have the same tranny 4L60E. That's what I have.

I think it's the same converter stock stall can be very broad from about 2000 rpm up to about 3000 rpm the engine dictates some of the stall

Yeah the LS1 uses the 4L60E. The only thing I would be concerned about with an LS1 torque converter is the length of the snout on the engine side of the TC. They are longer on the LS series blocks than any other, and I'm not sure if they changed the 3800's to accomidate for that or not. If they didnt, than an LT1 TC should work.

different converter. the 3.8 uses a different input shaft on the transmission

To my knowledge all of the 4L60E's have a 30 spline input shaft. I dont see why GM would make a 4L60E with a different input shaft just for the V6 models. I can see the engine side snout length on the 3.8 converters being different, but not the 4L60E's input shaft.

the input shaft would be the pump, that should be the same part, the output shaft may be different (It's not since the driveshafts are interchangable)
