Ls2

Anyone here ever seen or read about someone attempt to put the LS2 in a F-Body? Im pretty sure it can be done cause there not that much differnt from the ls1. I know some things are in differnt but im sure It could be done. If so Id love to get a F-Body down the road when im older and do it. Can you say sleeper? If it were able to be done im sure be easier in a 98+ F-Body since they hold the ls1 easy.

Not really, the LS2 is a 6 liter not 5.7, the engine cooling is run completely different throughout the block plus there's many other changes. Check GMHTP, that break the engine down.

Given but the block is still completely different, head's don't make the engine.

**** Chad, I never expect you to say something like that. Heads are probably one of the most important factors in performance. I mean do you really think the power difference between the LT1 and LS1 is mainly due to the fact that the blocks are different?

Heads/intake are the lungs, heart is the cam. The block would obviously be the body. Obviously each are important but its hard to say exactly which one is the most important part that 'makes' the motor.

It takes more than a good set of heads to go fast...

Instead of getting a $6,000+ crate engine with only 400 HP, Get a 6.0 truck block (Iron) through a good set of LS6 stage 2 heads on it, LS6 intake, a nice cam, everything else bolts right on from the LS1 and for less than $3500 you could have a 500-600 HP monster ALL MOTOR! Make everything forged and put a blower or nitrous on it, and you OWN the streets for a hell of a lot less...
