LS6 Manifold Swap Part 1!!!

10 Attachment(s)
Well here is the proccess in order to take it apart and prep the new manifold to be put on. From a stock LS1 intake manifold to an LS6 intake manifold, EGR Delete, Coolant Pipe Revision etc!

Part one, Start unbolting !

Part Two, take of off fuel rail cover and vaccuum lines and more ...

Part Three, take a break, cause you dont want to break poor ol' oil pressure sending unit!

Part 4, Show off the Z06 intake manifold that you custom painted high gloss 500 degree ceramic paint w/ clear coat and make fun of how the old one looks plain!

Part 5, about to go to sleep and finish this tomorrow!!!!

wat is the port job on that TB, i dont know what the stock LS6 throttle body size is? Is that your old LS1 TB? Looking good BTW

98CamaroZ28 09-14-2008 01:03 PM

yes thats my LS1 throttle body that I ported myself ;) the LS6 has a different set up and wont work with ls1 applications I believe. My TB is now a 78MM bore instead of the stock 75mm ;)

98CamaroZ28 09-16-2008 12:35 AM

3.42 gears maybe, or Long Tubes, whatever comes first.

ITSA6 09-16-2008 12:44 AM

nice choice, you have a dd as well correct?

98CamaroZ28 09-16-2008 02:03 AM

The Sweed 09-16-2008 05:56 AM

rice burner 09-16-2008 11:03 AM

nice upgrade ! What is the difference between the ls1/6 intake ?

98CamaroZ28 09-17-2008 01:56 AM

well let me find the specs right quick!

ok here they are

LS1:

Plenum Volume: 5.06 Liters
Runner Length: 262 mm
Runner Volume: .536 Liters

LS6:
Plenum Volume: 5.19 Liters
Runner Length: 262mm
Runner Volume: .541 Liters

so the runners are the same length, over all runner volume is .004 bigger per runner which over all is .032 Liters bigger runner volume
