The lt1 is out!
Stephs Camaro project has officially started. Now its time to tear it down and start the build proscess. Hopefully there wont be any suprises. I am pretty sure that it's going to need an opti, it looks like the water pump was starting to leak. Over the next couple of months we will be colecting parts and putting it together. Has any one one here done the ls1 coil pack conversion ( http://www.bailey-eng.com/LTCC.html )?

Are you rebuilding it or just doing the swap? Any modifications planned?

I had my motor out in a matter of a couple hours- most of the time was spent on the headers. I am here to say that I think its a lot easier to pull the motor with the tranny attached than mess around with trying to get to those tanny bolts. Not too mention that after that you have to support the tranny while the motor is out.
If you need any tips or tricks with that LT1 just post- there are many options out there, I know quite a few, but there are a lot of others that I haven't tried either.

In a M6, not much, 3 connections, pull the shifter, (easy) pull the clutch linkage-(again, easy) driveshaft and thats about it.
Otherwise you are either mangling your hands down behind the engine tryin to get at the bolts or using 4 ratchet extensions to reach all the way to the top bolts on the tranny.
