Lugnuts
#16
the fact that LS1 rotors and LT1 rotors are different sizes makes no difference. the overtightening of lugnuts on an LT1 can cause the same thing as on an LS1. that can be an issue on any car.

ye its not just an ls1.. or lt1.. its any car.. make or model..over tightening lugs can warps rotors.. and cause other suspension/drivetrain problems.. like axle wearing different etc..
i use a 3/8 drive impact and then just snug them slightly by hand ot make sure there on good.. ive done it enough times with and without the torque wrench i can tell you about where 100lbs is at

OK. Never had an LT1, hadn't heard they had the same problem. Never had any problem hand thightening any other lugs until 4th gen F-Body.
RX7, 280ZX, 300ZX, Caddys, Olds, Novas, trucks, no problems with warping until LS1 F-Body.
So it's not a universal truth. I applied the rule to the LS1 problem I know. Tony is right, there is a reason for specs.
I do try to keep it under 150 most of the time.

It can potentially cause it in just about any vehicle- you just might have only noticed it in your current car.
Rocker Arms on my car don't get torqued, although the head and intake bolts I do torque.
