I was takin off my manifolds to put on LT headers. I sprayed penetrating oil on the lower manifold to cat bolts. I snapped all three off from underneath. After one I said "F it, they all go". I figured they would unscrew from the top. I look at them from the top and DUH! They're not bolts they are studs. Im guessing the only was it to tap them out fomr the top. Anyone do this and have a simple/ easy remedy besides a blow torch.

Isnt the cat istelf welded onto the pipe, I think the suds just hold the cat together.

i didnt even bother taking off cat bolts. i used a sawzall

use a sawzall, mini grinder or exhaust cutter.

That's what I was thinkin. I can get to two of the three bolts from the top to tap them but I'll just cut it off. :banghead: I guess my hand held hack saw won't be much fun. Time for a Depot trip! Thanks to all!
