gas somehow got into the oil and it messed it up.

how much would it cost to make it a 383 with a pro installing it?

you may not need to go .060 over I would start with .030 from a relability standpoint, not that the bigger bore isn't reliable it's just the most you want to take a sbc engine without filling the block so anything happens (bad ring or something) it's junk

would it be worth it to get a 383 or a 396 . and how much would it cost with instaling it. or do u know a rebuild kit that will give me about 350/400 hp

no specific kit will give you any power, it's all in combinations, and alot has to do with machine work, a basic kit may get you there if you do head work and upgrade the cam (few kits have the performance cam) 396 is a big block would be more work to install, 383 is a stroked 350 so it's the same engine
