Ive talked to people who have the painted ones, performance wise its the same. Only difference is the ceramic ones would keep the engine cooler hardly though. IMO its not worth getting ceramics unless ur worried about how pretty your engine looks.

What Im saying is that exhaust diameter is measured by inside AND outside diameters. My pacesetters, which would be the same that you have, are made for the one end of the cat to fit inside the y-pipe, and my carsound cat, which is the same if you got 3" in and 3" out, did not fit together. They were both measured at exactly 3" OD (outside diameter)... Now figure out when you try to put two things together that are exactly the same diameter. One will not fit inside of the other.

What I ended up having to do because of time constraints, was epand the cat OVER the y-pipe. Im just saying, Id look and make sure the diameter is going to fit inside of the y-pipe.

As per gettign 3" vs. 2.5"... what size is yoru I-pipe? That should make all the difference. If your i-pipe is 3", then get a 3"/3"... if its 2.5" then get a 3"/2.5"... Cheaper, and easier. Simple as that.

You'll want to get the coated headers. The temps will be higher, you'll be burning spark plug wires, and the noncoated ones will rust out in no time and you'll have to get new header's later to replace them.

I have owned both kind of headers and if you ask anyone's that's personally owned both they'll tell you the same thing. Plus you live in New York so you have real winters with salt and such.

As for the car just get a 3" carsound cat and you'll be fine. That's what I did on my V6 Camaro.

You dont need the one with air... You need one with a single O2 after the cat... Unless you want to weld a bung into your i-pipe, or s-pipe.

My cat was around $90... I got it through a parts shop.

I think you need somthing like this http://www.car-sound.com/02product/d...niversal=94105

awesome i can pick that up at a local shop down the road from me !!!! thanks

wonder if they will carry the pacesetter headers to....for the same price

theres no cutting you have to do right everything should jsut bolt right up.....except for a lil welding on the cat.......

will the 3" y-pipe fit on the stock cat if it is 2.5, my dads afraid i wont pass emisions if i get an aftermarket cat, so if i need to i will leave the stock one on

I think stock cats are 3" in anyway. If not, you just need a 3"/2.5" reducer.

Just make sure the cat you get has an 02 bung after it and its universal... I cant remmeber the number on the one I got was.
