n20 advice?

well im getting rid of my zex kit.. and im going with a new setup.

im looking for a NOS wet kit/purge. im gonna go with a throttle body plate setup so i can spray directly into the throttle body. i will also be getting a holley 52mm throttle body. one of my older buddies works for holley carberators and specializes in nitrous and he advised me to go with this setup. he said i could wire up a window switch and i told him that i just wanted the nitrous for the weekends he said i wouldnt have to worry about retarding the timing.

that is just what i got from the conversation.. he was talking all kinds of stuff that i didnt understand like only running 103 octane when i was racing and **** like that. i have a feeling im gonna be broke when this is all said in done. but his car runs a high 7 in the 1/4 so i trust him :D .

anyone else have any advice for me. ive been researching this for hours and i just want to get the most out of what i got and do it safely. my brother has a MSD 6AL for sale but im not sure if the '6AL' would be the best one for my car or not. i think most f-body guys run the '6A'. **** im so confused right now. it'll be worth it tho when i get it dyno'd in april!!!

forgot to mention that he is selling me the parts at cost. so i am saving some money but if anyone comes across a good NOS kit on another website PLEASE let me know. oh and NOS and Holley are kinda grouped together so it pretty much has to be a NOS kit for this guy to help me with it.

only difference between 6A and 6AL is the AL has an adjustable rev limiter if im not mistaken. i would look into Dynotunenitrous.com. they are so cheap and excellent quality from what ive heard but if your gonna stick with NOS/Holley then just search CZ28 for used stuff, its all cheap there, but then again its used so be careful.

yep the al has a rev limiter. There is nothing wrong with the NOS brand, they have been doing it longer than the rest (and many times are usng the same solinoids as the others)

absolutely what Arch said, but like you also said in another post NOS is very expensive compared to kits that are of equal quality. good luck either way.

So yeah how much are you letting the ZEX kit go for?

aarontracy 01-30-2006 11:54 AM

a kid in town told me he would give me 300 for it so i didnt ask any questions i just told him he could have it for that.
