need help!!!

well this is my problem. my car runs fine if i go speed limit and dont try to step on it. but there was one time that i was waiting to turn left and i floored it to beat the car coming towards me and as soon as it was gonna change gear the whole car jumps bad!!!!! it made a loud thump noise and im like wtf. so as soon as im on straight road i tried to accelerate again to see if it only happened because i was turning but as soon as i stepped on it again it made the same thump noise and jumped and i feel the car jump from underneath me. so im wondering if anyone knows what is the cause of the problem??

Kind of hard to tell by how you explained it.

But my guess is the Tranny mount from what I got out of it, Jack it up and see if its fubar.

cocaine_83 07-24-2007 03:50 AM

its like if im at a dead stop and if i step on the gas all the way its going to thump and then wen it goes to second gear it jumps and thumps.

Bernotas05 07-24-2007 03:54 AM

Yea sounds like your tranny mount man, Jack er up and check it out. Its not hard to replace.

cocaine_83 07-24-2007 04:12 AM

aight thanx. im going to do dat tomoro morning. if it isnt that what else might it be? just in case so i wont have to jack it up another day. :D

archemedes 07-24-2007 03:59 PM

trans mount more than likely

FORCE_FED_Z 07-24-2007 05:53 PM

I will agree it sounds like the tranny mount. Just get an Energy suspension mount and you will be all set for a long time.

paarman97maro 07-26-2007 10:15 AM

yes do what force said.. I just did it, and I love mine.

cocaine_83 07-28-2007 06:13 AM

hey thanx i just changed my mount today and dat was the problem. now i found another crack on some other pad. gotta fix dat now. :banghead: lol

FORCE_FED_Z 07-28-2007 03:57 PM

Where is the pad located?

archemedes 07-28-2007 05:27 PM

may be worth your while to go ahead and replace all the rubber bushings, and mounts, you'll be amazed how much different a car handles especially after body mounts

cocaine_83 07-28-2007 08:34 PM

the pad is locatred right on the black thing that goes from the pad to the back. i kno this is a bad explanation but im gonna see wat its called.

Bernotas05 07-28-2007 08:59 PM

The torque arm bushing?

FORCE_FED_Z 07-28-2007 10:43 PM

oh yeah- the black thing, of course...why didn't you say so before, that clears everything up.

What you are probably talking about is what Bern said- the torque arm bushing. And don't worry, its supposed to have the slit in it.

Sorry Arch, you are kinda dating yourself here, our cars don't have body mounts-

yes they do, all cars have body mounts (they go into the cradle where it meets the body)
