need help!!!

well this is my problem. my car runs fine if i go speed limit and dont try to step on it. but there was one time that i was waiting to turn left and i floored it to beat the car coming towards me and as soon as it was gonna change gear the whole car jumps bad!!!!! it made a loud thump noise and im like wtf. so as soon as im on straight road i tried to accelerate again to see if it only happened because i was turning but as soon as i stepped on it again it made the same thump noise and jumped and i feel the car jump from underneath me. so im wondering if anyone knows what is the cause of the problem??

Kind of hard to tell by how you explained it.

But my guess is the Tranny mount from what I got out of it, Jack it up and see if its fubar.

I will agree it sounds like the tranny mount. Just get an Energy suspension mount and you will be all set for a long time.

may be worth your while to go ahead and replace all the rubber bushings, and mounts, you'll be amazed how much different a car handles especially after body mounts

oh yeah- the black thing, of course...why didn't you say so before, that clears everything up.

What you are probably talking about is what Bern said- the torque arm bushing. And don't worry, its supposed to have the slit in it.

Sorry Arch, you are kinda dating yourself here, our cars don't have body mounts-

yes they do, all cars have body mounts (they go into the cradle where it meets the body)
