Need help with gears

I bought some Motive Performance 373s for my Z28 and I was told by the person installing it that the pinion is too short? Why would this be? Is he right or did I receive the wrong set or did any 96 auto Z28s come with 273s or 308s stock? I really need to get my Camaro driveable soon (rear end needed rebuilt and my Eclipse is gonna be down for awhile ) so any advice is much appreciated!

too short b/c the 3.73 needs a different carrier than the 3.08 and lower number gears

So u think that my Z28 came with 3.08s or lower stock? I had been under the impression that Z28s didn't come with that low of gears but idk? Should I go ahead and order this spacer kit http://www.neweraperformanceparts.com/default.asp?S=503&A=E&PKV=3srs|0 my Eclipse is so ****** since my accident. Transmission went today hub and bearing need replaced and I'm so damn frustrated with my car situation right now :banghead:

lol I just really want to figure this out tonight.. whether to buy that spacer or trade it if they sent the wrong one. My Eclipse's transmission went with no warning it was great shifted great never did a damn thing wrong. The past few days I had heard some metal clinging when I started it.. I assumed that my downpipe just got loose again cuz it would go away after a few seconds.. today my Eclipse just wouldn't drive right at all and hardly wanted to move and from what I've heard especially since it's AWD it's a result of that dumbass slamming into it cuz it got hit so hard and ****** up the alignment, wheel and hub bearing (which I was supposed to get fixed at the end of this week).. but I feel bad I actually need to daily drive my Z28 if I can get it done but it's worse not having a driveable car

if the guy doing your CARS rear end says a spacer will work go for it. i have never heard of using a spacer for the pinion gear though

3.43, 3.73, and 2.32 i think...I have 3.43...I was wondering if a 3.73 would be ok in an automatic? is it worth the money or not?

You mean 3.42s?

Depends on what kind of driving you do mostly with it... But if you had a hard time getting your dad to let you get halos, good luck with gears.
