need help with oil temperature gauge

need help with oil temperature gauge

I've had this autometer oil temp gauge for awhile now and i still havent hooked up the sending unit....i having trouble finding a spot to put the sending unit in....I heard there's a spot just above the oil filter.so i took that plug out and i dont have the right fitting for it....if somebody knows what size adapter fitting that is or know how to install it would be helpful fyi (lt1)

I believe its 1/2" pipe thread, but I will have to double check.

Just grab a 3/8" ratchet, extension and take the plug out. Then just head down to the hardware store (in a different car of course..) and get the correct fittings for what you need.
