need opinions TONIGHT.

I need rotors so so so bad... brake pads are way down there, and squeeking... Im going on trip next week, so Im hoping I can get these mid next week and install them before I leave. I know I said I didnt want drilled, but I CANNOT pass this deal up if this is legit... $30 a rotor?!

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Let me know what you think. Just want to make sure Im not just tired after work, and Im reading this right... These will fit, and be a hell of a deal right?

Thanks for your feedback guys.

Summit is pretty respectible and if you think about it - regual price it's about $100 for the set for fronts, probably $200 on all four corners which is typical of most Ebay places. I think you'd be alright. Just no heavy auto X brakeing you know? As gfar as pads its recomended to use a carbon pad with cross drilled rotors so it wont were as quickly. Good luck.

k thanks guys... I just ordered them. Hopefully I can find pads around here for prettymuch the same price, Im assuming I can. Ill keep the carbon pads in mind, thanks Grant. Also, I wont be autocrossing or anything, Im more worried about the snow with the constant heating and cooling that theyll crack or warp, but Im in need of them now, and 30$ is a ******* good deal.

i actaulyl was thinking about these yesterday, they are one of the only mods i called summit and ordered the minute i saw them, they were on complete impulse and so far i dont regret it one bit. havent rusted at all yet. only thing i regret is not waiting cause i paid 50 a peice but still i think it was a nice deal but 30, cant go wrong. also, change the pads, get like hawk or something good, i didnt change mine and now the rotor has a bunch of crap from the old pads but they are still fine.

Okay, my girlfriends dad thinks I need to change my bearings since Im doing my rotors... He was saying I need to do somthing with them to get the rotors off or somthing, I was really confused... I just remmeber moving the caliper and the rotors coming right off? Its not necessary to change the bearings unless theres a problem with them, right?

It is not required but people say that you should just b/c by the time you need to replace the rotors the bearing will be worn. I have never done it. You could do it if u want or u got the cash but IMHO it doesn't matter.

since their off, at least repack them. while doing so, you'll know if they need to be replaced. a bad bearing is pretty clear to see. justin, i dont think the bearings are too expensive if you need them. ( i get wicked good discounts.....everywhere, so if you need them let me know and ill pick em up for you). but being a 97, aren't they sealed bearings? idk, i dont own a slowmaro. just a thought.

quick way to test for bad bearings before tearing into the project. jack up a wheel, and grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try and move it. if it has any play at all then your bearings are shot for sure. there shouldnt be any slop

Yeah so I went to checkers to check out brake pads, and I asked about carbon ones:

Me: Hey, do you have any carbon brake pads for a 97 camaro?
Mr. Smarty Pants: Is it a RS, Z28, or SS
Me: Doesnt matter... RS I guess
Mr. SP: Well, is it a 6 or an 8?
Me: Its a 6, but it doesnt make a difference, the brakes are the same.

He went on to tell me that they were like $60... so f that place. Then he told me I should get Ceramic becuase Carbon Metallics are for like AutoX racing.. Which were still around $50...I told him Ill look around online and come back if I need to.
