New Car

I am thinking about getting a different camaro due to all the problems i have had with mine. My main question is this: Am i gaining anything by switching from an auto camaro to a manual? because that is what it would basically be so just let me know

thanks
vince

No one person can shift as fast as a chipped automatic car. You gain nothing except the thrill of driving a car that you control how well it does. A ****** driver does ****** at the track in a manual, but a good driver can drop as much as 1-2 seconds off the time believe it or not.

Just FYI, if you are looking for another v6, I have heard nothing but really bad things about the 5 speeds. Almost anyone who has done any did performance work blew it up and/or swapped in a A4.

Now if you are looking into an LT1 or LS1, its a crime against nature not to get an M6.

the manuals in all the camaros are junk we have found an average life of about 90k miles on the trans itself (some do go further, but we have not found one with 200k and have about 100 of the autos with over that) a manual will typically be slower at the drag strip due to your shifting (every shift the car loses speed)
