New Exhaust/Headers

Hey, alright I need everyones imput on this. As many of you know, I plan on getting new headers and exhaust next month. I am going with a 3" Magnaflow catback system for sure. I had also planned on getting Pacesetter headers, as I hear those will probably be the best for my money. Im thinking Im gonna have around $800 to spend approx., maybe more, but I would like to try to keep a little extra left over (need money for install, and I might want to get some other stuff).

The cheapest Magnaflow I have found is about $360, with free shipping:
http://www.magnaflowexpress.com/shop...-15620-12.html

I found some Pacesetter headers on ebay for $227+$15 for shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Exhau...spagenameZWDVW

I was thinking of just getting the basic ones, and maybe getting them ceramic coated afterward depending on your guys' imput. First off, does anyone know how much it costs, and are they going to get discolored anyway?

I was also wondering, is there a certain type of headers I should get like shortys, or mid-tube to have the exahust fit up just fine?

Im just trying to learn more, and if anyone knows of a link or somthing that I can read on them, let me know. Thanks for the help.

You can get the Pacesetters (black painted) for $207 at FTPP.net. But if I were you, I'd just save up the extra now for the ceramic coated at least. Magnaflow is a good choice, they sound nice, aren't as loud as some of the other choices out there, which is something not everyone likes.

If you dont mind answering, why do you suggest ceramic coated?

The 3" and headers should fix that a little bit

I actually decided because I want somthing that sounds nice, and has performance. This is my favorite by far.

black painted are really dumb. the "coating" will wear within minutes and the heat radiating from them well heat you engine and kill performance. ceramic holds heat much better and will not allow it to seep into your engine or engine bay. its so worth it.

What about if I find someone who does ceramic coating... would it be cheaper that way? What would be a decent price to pay for it?

If all else fails, ill most likely buy ceramic coated ones... Do you have any links to cheaper ones? Im just trying to save myself a little money here, I dont come across this too often.

it's normally a bunch cheaper to buy them done (is also more relaible since they don't get handled as much before hand)

Does anyone know if I should get short/mid headers? Will I run into alignment problems with either?

I'm a newb here. But with the extra exhaust flow from a turbo, why would not need better headers? Does the turbo supply you with a specialized set?

2Poor4Z is an unknown quantity at this point
unless its a rear mounted turbo, whihc i have never seen done a v6.. then the turbo actually bolts to what is called a turbo manifold.. which replaces your headers.. its basically a set of headers with a flange on the end to bolt up the turbo
