nope still need a lift (they are very very easy if you go from underneath)

archemedes 10-18-2005 09:42 AM

hooker recommends the super comp headers for street /strip use when available, which they say are full length (long tube)

paarman97maro 10-18-2005 09:58 AM

Is it just Hooker in general, or are those some of the more expensive ones?

archemedes 10-18-2005 08:56 PM

full length would be more expensive usually

if you dislike it stop bringing it to the top, and it will go away

I thought there was a performance gain as well. But for the money I didn't notice much, if at all. I first had the 2 1/2 headers going to a 3" catback and flowmaster duels. Big gain! Then I replaced the headers to complete the 3 inches going to the engine, no difference in porformance unfortunatly :(. As far as I can tell. Spent five hundred on ebay and another hundred to have a friend install them. The sound is slightly deeper over the before sound with the Flowmaster, but thats about it.

Oh crap, just noticed you were talking about sound, not performance lol. Maybe I was reading another post. To answer you, yes it will deepen the sound. But I'm not sure if $500 is worth a little deeper sound :). Just buy the mufflers and catbacks.

Maybe I got bad headers, who knows.

pacesetter's, which are midlength tubes, are probably the best choice for a 3.8

2000v6cam 12-22-2005 03:24 AM

I have a question too that im not sure if anyone asked but i have aftermarket flowmaster exhaust i wanted it to just sound meaner would headers make it sound better or just like a bus or something.

NoRiceInside 12-22-2005 03:35 AM

a bus lol. my friend called my 3.4 a bus. cam, no cat, and a flowmaster. he said it sounded like a bus.

now i know i shouldnt be giving an opinion about the v6s sound cuz you all know i hate any exhaust on any v6...

but i'll try to be me from 3 months ago. headers will obviously deepen the sound but with a flowmaster it might sound a little too annoying. i think headers and a magnaflow would sound nice.

2000v6cam 01-10-2006 04:53 AM

lol yea ive heard the bus thing before, the exhaust i have now with the resonator doesnt sound bad though and ill probably hold off on the headers cause my cars a 2000 so it has tubular headers :nana:
