Oil Change

Ok it's time for me to change the oil in my LS1. But as you guys know I'm getting a cam installed next week.
Is it better for me to do the oil change now or wait until after the cam install?
Thanks

Wait for the install. When you do the install you will have assembly lube all over the rotating parts to insure lubrication on intial start up. That oil you will run for probably 20 mins or so depending on your cam manuf. instructions. You will then want to get that oil out before you drive her home. If you use Synthetic, don't use it until you get miles on the new cam and everything is good and broke in.

I assume the synthetic works to well and doesn't allow the cam to properly wear in?
